This is done with an optical sensor. Incorrectly positioned parts are conveyed by a pneumatic slide into a collecting container. Pins in the correct position are fed through another pneumatic tube to the separator of the press-fit tool. The actual press-fit process is also performed pneumatically with a punch guided by a roller bearing. First, a manually adjustable pressure p1 is used to check that the pin is not pressed too lightly into the shaft. A pressure p2, which is also manually adjustable, then presses the pin into the rotor shaft as far as it will go. A disk spring package preloaded with 5,000 N prevents excessive force from being exerted on the pin and shaft.
